Promote Diabetes Awareness in your high or junior high school and community by starting your own Awareness Club.
We strive to promote awareness about diabetes in our diverse community by providing free opportunities for education, social connection and philanthropy. Join our mailing list to get instructions on getting your own group started, including meeting topics and free lecture slides, fundraising ideas and more. Visit TrueSuagr.org for information about promoting nutrition data.
As a member of Diabetes High, you will have free access to relevant presentations, BeyondType1 #SeeTheSigns posters for your school health office, a great network and opportunities to volunteer and make a positive impact in your community. The BreakthroughType1 Walk is a great example!
Founded in 2022 as part of "True Sugar" with the first chapter at the Orange County School of the Arts in Santa Ana, California. Diabetes High has been dedicated to fostering a sense of belonging and unity among teenagers in the diabetes community. No matter what language someone speaks, we want to reach them!
Type 1 Diabetes' early warning signs posters have been placed in 147 schools' health offices in Orange County, CA. Help us to include even more schools and school districts to raise awareness for early diagnosis! "True Sugar" has analyzed charter school menus to inform diabetics about the nutritional content.
BreakthroughT1d (formerly JDRF) hosts fundraising events all over the United States to benefit research and support programs for diabetes. The annual One Walk is the organization's biggest event. Try putting together a team to walk and join the thousands of people making a difference for the diabetes community! Here is the Orange County School of the Arts Diabetes Awareness Club at the OC One Walk promoting three #Seethesigns campaign.
@BeyondType1 posters, fundraising ideas (like this low-carb taco sale for Type1 Index shown here at OCSA) and meeting lecture slides available for member chapters. You can find information about camps and other community opportunities, here, too.
